When making a template to be used with a copy ring, the distance between the router bit and the copy ring must be taken into account. This distance is calculated using the following formula: (copy ring diameter (K) - router bit diameter (F))/2. The copy ring for routers runs along the template and transfers its shape to the workpiece. It is indispensable for working with templates and has a bayonet lock for quick changes without tools.
