The great thing about the Pokémon universe is that everyone can join in, regardless of age. With the many amazing Pokémon creatures, there are plenty of characters to choose from - whether you're into the small and adorable Pokémons, like the little yellow Pikachu, or the big and cool ones, like the fire dragon Charizard.

By now there are many generations of Pokémons and Pokémon cards. All Pokémons each have their own distinct characteristics and special powers. Collecting Pokémon cards is therefore a fun hobby where you can collect, play and swap the cards until you have put together the perfect combination of all your favorite Pokémons.

But Pokémon is much more than just a card game. The popular creatures are also available as figures and plushies. New Pokémon V and Pokémon Sword & Shield cards

Pokémon Sword & Shield is the latest generation of Pokémon cards. With more than 200 cards and brand new Pokémons from the Galar region, there's plenty of new things to explore. Meet the brand-new Pokémon V, including the legendary Zacian and Zamazenta or old celebrities such as Stonjourner and Snorlax, who in their galarian forms can evolve into giant Pokémon VMAX with even more power.

Pokémon cards differs in power, type and rarity. The rarity of a Pokémon card often relates to how powerful a Pokémon is. However, the rarity of a card is not solely determined by the Pokémon's strength. If you have a rare card, which is only produced in a limited volume, it often comes with certain bragging rights included.

How do I build a Pokémon deck?

Are you new to the Pokémon universe, or are you not sure how to build the best Pokémon deck? There are a lot of options with essential cards, theme deck, boxes and many more. Here you will find an overview of how you put together and develop your Pokémon deck.

Collect your essential cards

When building your Pokémon deck, starting off with a couple of boosters, a theme deck or a tin box is a good idea.

  • Booster pack: A booster pack contains 10 cards of different rarities, giving you the opportunity to build your deck of cool Pokémons.
  • Theme Deck: A theme deck consists of a full Pokémon card deck so you can start playing right away. A theme deck is often built around a specific Pokémon or type of Pokémon. With a theme deck, you also get a gaming mat as well as plenty of energy cards, which you will need to bring your Pokémons into play.
  • Tin box: The tin boxes are available in several different versions. A tin box consists of 2-4 booster packs, a Pokémon coin and a unique Pokémon V card, with one of the best Pokemons in its highest development. In addition, the tin box is a brilliant way to store and transport your Pokemon cards where ever you go.

Expand your Pokémon deck with a card box

Once you have built your basic Pokémon deck, you may want to expand your Pokémon deck with one of the many boxes that are released each year.

The Pokémon boxes often focus on a specific Pokémon and its backstory. Also included in the box is one of the very rare and brand-new V cards. The box usually also includes an oversized version of the V card, 4 booster packs and an online code, so you can also play with your Pokémons online.

Accessories for your card collection

When it comes to protecting your Pokémon cards, there are several options to consider – from plastic charteques and plastic pockets to Pokémon folders. With plastic charteques and a Pokémon folder, you can easily keep track of and display all your Pokémon cards, while ensuring that your cards are always protected.

  • Plastik charteques: If you have a lot of Pokémon cards, you may want to protect them using the specially made plastic charteques with room for 9 cards per A4 page, that is 18 cards if you place them back to back.
  • Collerctor’s folder: If you bring your Pokémon cards with you everywhere, the original A4 or A5 Pokémon folders come in handy. With room for 40 cards (80 if placed back to back) or 90 cards (180 if placed back to back), you can easily carry all your Pokémon cards with you wherever you go
  • Plastic pockets: If you enjoy playing with your Pokémon cards, you might want to consider buying single card pockets for your cards. These card pockets are also called "Deck Protectors" and are available in several different colors and thicknesses to protect your favorite Pokémon cards.
