The TerraMaster U8-500 Plus is a high-performance 8-bay NAS file server designed for small and medium-sized businesses that require substantial storage capacity, fast networking, and comprehensive data protection. An Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 10 cores and speeds of up to 4.7 GHz is paired with 16 GB of DDR5 memory. Two SODIMM slots allow the RAM to be expanded to 64 GB, providing additional flexibility for demanding workloads and business applications.

Eight drive bays support 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch HDDs and SSDs, with an official maximum internal capacity of up to 176 TB using eight 22 TB drives. Two M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 slots can be used for high-speed SSD caching or additional storage. Hot-swap support allows drives to be replaced without shutting down the server, reducing downtime during storage maintenance.

Two 10GbE ports provide high network bandwidth for large file transfers, backups, and multi-user workloads. Link Aggregation can further improve network performance, while the manufacturer specifies transfer speeds of up to 2090 MB/s. The server also includes HDMI output, three USB-A 3.1 ports, and a USB-C 3.1 port with up to 10 Gb/s bandwidth.

Business Backup Suite combines Centralized Backup, Duple Backup, TerraSync, CloudSync, and Snapshot for centralized and multi-layered data protection. AES encryption, OTP authentication, SSL certificates, Active Directory, LDAP, and HyperLock provide additional security and administration options. The U8-500 Plus is therefore suitable as a central business file server, backup platform, and scalable storage system.
